Selmer Reference 54 or commonly abbreviated as Ref 54 is the latest modern series from Henri Selmer Paris by taking references from the early Mark VI (1954), but that does not mean that this Reference 54 is a copy of the Mark VI. The design of the Reference 54 which takes references from the early Mark VI has the same sound character (tonal similarity) as the early Mark VI. Likewise, the ergonomic design makes us feel like we are really holding the Mark VI. The Reference 54 aims to perfect the Mark VI by combining it with modern saxophone technology, thus providing more modern intonation and mechanics. This is where we understand the Reference 54 as "When history meets modernity". Selmer Paris claims that in some ways the Reference 54 is better than the Mark VI, especially in terms of more consistent production quality and neater and more luxurious finishing.
This unit is a Selmer Ref 54 made in 2015 with a serial number (N: 768513) and dark gold lacquer. All the bodies and parts of this saxophone are still intact, there are no dents/dents/welding marks, and all the engravings are still intact and clear. The pads use original Selmer pads and are still in very good condition, all pads and settings are safe, there are no leaks, 100% low to high. The original neck with the "Refference" marking on the bottom ring near the tenon. All blued springs are still good, responsive, none are rusty. This unit is equipped with a BAM Softpack hardcase in good condition.
